It's been a long time since i've posted. So with that out of the way i'll just announce..... I'm starting frame #3 soon. I'll have cleared out my painting projects in a few days and will begin the build of JG Cycles #3(I know that's funny, but you gotta call them something). This frame will be a slighly "relaxed" sport touring kinda bike for my wife. Or to put it another way, it will be built the way a race bike should be built, but will be able to handle skinny fenders. The build itself will be Sach's richieissimo lugs, crown and bb cut and pasted to Colombus life for the TT,ST,CS,SS, with a Columbus Zona DT. Keri is light so this will be a very light and lively bike for her. I'm shooting to have it weigh in at about 17.5 lbs built up.

The picture above sums up some of my recent frame building thoughts. I'll expand on that thought the next time I post with pics of the tube miters.

I'll be posting pics every few days so check back.

Progress

I'm working like crazy to finsish this thing. I just completed my 21st braze on. It's a long list. 6 for fenders, 6 for racks, 2 for shifters, 3 for brakes, 2 for shifter cables and 4 bottle bosses. that does not include the two bridges. I'll be done sanding and filing this weekend.

Filing

I'm down to the last parts of building this frame. The filing. It's not as hard as I thought it would be. Just crank up the tunes and get to work. I think the decals will be the major slowdown. I hope to be done this weekend and ready to paint soon thereafter. JG

Fork is done, sort of.
I'm happy with my home made canti boss fixture. It's not as nice as some I have seen but I got full coverage and they are straight and even. What else can one ask for.

Back to work. I am getting all the braze ons done this weekend. I have brakes, fenders and racks to go. It seems like it would be easy but it is anything but. I don't have fixtures built to speed the process so everything I do requires a new tool I have to build. Last night I built a tool to hold the Canti bosses 63mm apart for the Paul Racer brakes. We'll see if it works. JG
